Volunteers and Open Data Camp

Two teams of volunteer CampMakers help make Open Data Camp go well for everyone.

There’s the organising team who meet in hangouts, and occasionally in real life, to do the heavy lifting around things like dates, venue, sponsorship, tickets, refreshments, website, Twitter, t-shirts and blogposts.

There is also the team of event volunteers who join with the organising team to help in the runup and over the 2 days of Open Data Camp. They give local support and help the organising team with tasks like registration, transcribing, directing people to sessions, taking notes and reporting. Both teams working together help make Open Data Camp the success that it is.

We in the organising team have compiled some event volunteer guidelines so we’re clear what is expected of the event volunteers. These guidelines are available here.
